It offers a unique surveying system that allows you to answer questions about the kind of books you want to read. It then has a “robot” recommend book just for you based on your answers. The surveys asks you about what appeals to you in a book, such as what kind of characters you like, what setting you prefer, what kind of writing style you favor. In addition to the robot search, you can also browse many annotated lists of books by genre, read reviews by other book lovers, and read back issues of Library Journal’s Word of Mouth column. This site contains quite a bit of information, but it does take time to find all the ways in which it can be useful. Take your time and try out all of the different facets of this fun and fascinating site. |
