Looking for a Group to Join?

The Hershey Public Library plays host to a number of groups that meet at the library and are open to new members. There is something for almost everyone here at the library. Take a look at what we have to offer. If you are interested in joining a group, you may either stop by one of the meetings or contact the person listed.

Derry Writers Group

The Derry Writers Group offers support and feedback to fellow writers in the areas of fiction, nonfiction, memoir, and children’s writing. Feel free to bring a sample (1-2 pages) of your latest writing project for critique. Open to all writing levels.

Meeting Times: 4 th Monday of the month (December’s meeting is on the 3rd Monday)

Hershey Apple Core

The Hershey Apple Core is the oldest Macintosh User Group in Central Pennsylvania. Originally formed in 1985, we have a large and diverse membership with substantial resources. Our members include homemakers, business people, computer professionals, retired people, computer novices, corporate officers, educations, students, etc. Membership is open to everyone. The purpose of our meetings is to educate attendees and members about information technology and personal computing with a focus on the products of Apple. Hershey Area Art Association

The Hershey Area Art Association is a 501C(3) tax exempt association. The mission of the HAAA is promoting, encouraging, and perpetuating the fine arts and fine arts education in the region. For more information, log on to the association’s website at http://haaaonline.com

Hershey Area New Neighbors Club

The purposes of the Hershey Area New Neighbors Club are to promote friendship, to increase the members’ knowledge concerning the functioning of the local community, and to provide opportunities for social interactions through a variety of interest groups.

Meeting Times: 2 nd Thursday of the month from September through April
(October 2008 meeting will be the 3 rd Thursday of the month)

Hershey Camera Club

Hershey Camera Club welcomes all who would like to learn more about the enjoyment of photography in a friendly atmosphere. Regular meetings are open to the public. Meetings may have speakers sharing their knowledge of various aspects of photography or be a competition event. Show & Tell Nights, held on the first Thursday from September through May, are informal gatherings where members and guests have the chance to share tips, ideas, or photos and to discuss various photographic topics. Hershey Knitting Group

This is an informal group of area knitters who gather to knit. Lively discussion (both on and off topic) as well as encouragement and skill building tips abound. We welcome knitters of all skill levels and projects in all stages. There are no dues, though a donation of $1.00 per person is given directly to the library (who buys us books).

Hershey Quilters Guild

The Hershey Quilters Guild is an informal group of quilters interested in sharing ideas and projects. We have an active charity program, making and donating quilts to various organizations. We welcome all levels of interest!

Meeting Times: 1 st and 3 rd Thursday of every month.
Also, anytime there is a fifth Thursday in a month, the group meets from
9:30a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for a charity work day (drop in).
Regular meetings are held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
