2008 Programs
The Hershey Public Library offers two unique winter reading programs this year.
The first is our popular Read to a Bingo program, which challenges readers to play literary bingo. We supply the bingo card and suggestions for each category in the squares. Participants can read any book that fits the description in the square.
The library’s new program is called Mysteries Around the World. Participants need to read four mysteries, each set in a different country. The library offers suggestions of mysteries set in many countries to help you choose. However, what you choose to read is entirely up to you.
Participants for either program receive a bookmarker just for registering. Once you complete the program, you will receive a mug and will be entered into a raffle drawing to win gift certificates to area restaurants. Each program will offer its own raffle drawing.
Participants can earn extra raffle tickets by reading extra books. All of the details of each program are explained on the program card you receive. Audio books count too, and all ages are welcome to participate in either program. We even have some special prizes for youngsters who complete the program.
To register and pick up your program card, go to the circulation desk anytime between January 2nd and March 31st. Completed program cards must be turned in by March 31st to be eligible for the raffle drawing.
Both programs are sponsored by Friends of Hershey Public Library.
