Two local authors, Arthur Ford and Curtis Smith, will offer a talk about their work and about the writing process in general. They will discuss what it takes to write a novel and other works of fiction and will read from their work. They will also answer questions from the audience. Dr. Arthur Ford is Professor Emeritus of English and Playwright-in-Residence at Lebanon Valley College. He will focus on his new novel Shunned. He has also published book-length critical studies, academic articles, short stories, poetry, plays, and opera libretti as well as the non-fiction book Cinderella and the Seven Dwarfs: The Lebanon Valley College 1952-53 Basketball Team’s Improbable Run to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Curtis Smith is the author of three novels: An Unadorned Life, Sound and Noise, and Truth…Or Something Like it (to be published in 2010).
