Volunteers

Each year volunteers work an average of over 5,000 hours. The Hershey Public Library would certainly be a much less efficient and welcoming place without the efforts of our volunteers.

Volunteers are relied upon to provide many services, including:

  • Returning books to shelves
  • Preparing date-due cards
  • Repairing items
  • Assisting with programs
  • Caring for the plants
  • Collecting books all year round and organizing an extremely successful book sale each August

Volunteer work is for all ages and is satisfying and rewarding. Some volunteers have been working at the library for years and some for decades. We thank them all.

To find out how to become a member of this very active group please come into the library, call the Friends of the Library at (717) 533-6555 extension 3719, send e-mail including your name and telephone number, or mail your membership form.
