We are pleased to announce that the Hershey Public Library now accepts credit cards for payment. If you have a fine or owe replacement/other fees, you may now use a Visa, MasterCard or Discover card to make a complete or partial payment. (please note: you cannot use a credit card to pay for township trash bags)
How It Works
From Home:
- Visit www.hersheylibrary.org
- In the left hand column, click 'Manage Your Account'
- Type your barcode number (found on the back of your library card), password and click 'log in.' If you do not have a password for your account, please visit the circulation desk so we can create a password for you
- Click the 'Fines and Fees' tab. You will then see a list of fines by item
- Select the fine or fines by clicking the respective check box
- Click 'Pay Fines Now'
- You will need to accept the .30 processing fee in order to pay by credit card
- Follow the directions to complete the transaction:
- Your name and address will pre-populate the relevant fields
- Verify your e-mail address to receive an electronic copy of the transaction
- Enter your credit card type, number, security code and expiration date (WE DO NOT SAVE ANY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION)
- Print a copy of the confirmation page at the end for your own record
Inside the Library:
- A computer terminal on the circulation desk has been designated for making credit card payments OR you can use our catalog computers OR you can use our public computers
- Follow the same directions for at home use
- If you wish, print a copy of the confirmation page. A library employee will have to retrieve the printout for you
