What is the Endowment?
The Endowment is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, created in 1985 “for the welfare, support, advancement and perpetuation of the Hershey Public Library.”
What can I donate to the Endowment?
The Endowment can accept or arrange gifts such as:

¨ Appreciated securities, bonds, stock
¨ Wills/Bequests
¨ Life Insurance
¨ Charitable Gift Annuities
¨ Charitable Remainder Trusts
¨ Other gifts recommended by your financial advisor
What are the objectives of the Endowment?
The mission of the Endowment is to provide a source of funds to enhance the services and resources of the Library.
It is the intent that a portion of income be added to the principal as a reserve for major contingencies, and a portion be used to fund enhancements.
Why does the Endowment need to grow?
225,000 library visitors used just over 400,000 items in 2010. Anticipated growth in services, space, and resources will require capital improvements in the future.
