Cement Vase Edition – for all ages
Ms. Rita and Aly will walk you through how to make a lovely vase out of old towels and cement. That’s right! It can be a family affair. Younger library friends will need assistance from an adult but it is always fun to get your hands dirty–no matter the age. Everyone will want to do this outside in a space that is easily cleaned up. Pick up your kit at the library May 18-21. Watch the video on the library’s YouTube programming channel at 11 am on the 22nd.
Sunday, June 20. 10:00 am to 10:30 am
Combine art and science to make these fun climbing toys. Perfect to entertain yourself inside when it’s too hot or too wet to play outside. You will need scissors and markers or crayons—we will provide everything else you need, including a fun DIY video starring Ms. Rita! Watch the video on the library’s YouTube programming channel at 10 am.
Sunday, August 1. 10:00 am to 10:30 am
Dog Toy (not for aggressive chewers)
We will use fabric scraps to practice our braiding skills. Don’t have a canine friend to share with? Bring your finished craft back to the library and we will share with our Caring Hearts volunteer dogs! Watch the video on the library’s YouTube programming channel at 10 am.
Sunday, August 15. 10:00 am to 10:30 am
Step back in time to learn how to make a paper garland just like Laura and Mary did in the On the Banks of Plum Creek. Everything old is new again—you’ve seen garlands on Pinterest and Etsy—now you can make your own. Celebrate the end of summer and decorate your space! We will provide the paper and the video instructions; you provide the creativity and the scissors! Watch the video on the library’s YouTube programming channel at 10 am.
