Discover Tails and Tales at the Hershey Public Library this summer. This year’s summer reading program will include Furry Tales, The Story Garden, Stories for Everyone, and other fun-filled programs for children and families. Summer Quest provides a no-pressure and fun way to continue reading over summer vacation thereby maintaining reading skills mastered during the school year. A book will be awarded for meeting the reading challenge. What counts as reading minutes? Children being read to (this includes children of all ages), children reading by themselves, reading to a sibling, a grown-up, or a friend. Listening to audiobooks also counts! We have audiobooks on CD for children and PlayAway audiobooks for older children. And, don’t forget audiobooks and e-books on Libby, TumbleBooks, BookFlix through Power Library, and Storyline Online. Please visit our e-Library page for links.

Download the Beanstack Tracker app for your mobile device from the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android to record reading sessions, to scan ISBN barcodes to add titles to your Log (available only on smartphones; and tablets), and manage family reading logs and view statistics. New this year is the Leaderboard, so you can compete with friends and family for the most badges and points.

The last day to log reading minutes will be August 21.
