The 2021 Friends annual book sale will return this summer. Saturday, July 31 to Tuesday, August 3 during regular library hours. The sale will take place outside in the library’s Reading Garden and inside the library meeting rooms. There will be a one-way flow of traffic to help with social distancing. Masks or face coverings are required at the library and in the Reading Garden for those unvaccinated in accordance with CDC guidelines.

If you’re unsure of your membership status, please contact the library and we’ll be sure to get you that information. Additionally, you can sign up or renew memberships during the event. Saturday, July 31, the library will be adding a Summer Block Party to the mix with outdoor games, food, and drinks from 2-5 PM. Sunday, August 1. 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (The library is closed). Monday’s sale will feature a 3-for-1 special, and Tuesday’s sale will be $5 for a whole box or bag of books! Anyone interested in supporting the work of the Friends of the Hershey Public Library can make a donation or join the Friends on a variety of membership levels. Renew your Friends membership or join Friends.
The library depends on your donations of gently used books, dvds, video games, magazines and puzzles as a substantial portion of our annual fundraising efforts, which in 2019, the Friends Annual Book Sale helped to raise over $45, 500. The pop-up book sale in 2020 raised $3,893.67.
